Dubai Road and Bridge Projects worth $1.25 Billion Reviewed by HH Sheikh Mohammed

The Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and the Emir of Dubai His Highness Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum reviewed road and bridge projects that were developed in Jebel Ali. These extensions are meant to facilitate the ongoing Expo 2020 and serve the following areas:

  • Jebel Ali Industrial Area
  • Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority
  • Dubai Investment Park
  • International Media Production Zone
  • Al Maktoum International Airport

A newly-converted flyover on the Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road, previously known as the Al Houdh Roundabout, has now enabled free flow of traffic in all directions.

Furthermore, roads extending 26.6 kilometers have been meliorated to allow for a 57,0000 motor vehicles per hour junction.

Following are the rest of the improvements, road and bridge development projects that fall under the umbrella of the $1.25 billion Dubai Road and Bridge projects:

  • Advances made on the 7th Interchange on Sheikh Zayed Road
  • Advances made on the Al Yalayes Road
  • Extension of the First Al Khali Road
  • Construction of roads and bridges on the Al Asayel Road (Extending 18.5km, increasing traffic intake to 29,000 vehicles per hour)
  • Upgrading JAFZA bridge on Sheikh Zayed Road (Extending 2.5km, increasing traffic intake to 6,000 vehicles per hour)
  • Construction of Bridges near the Expo 2020 site (Extending 13.4km, tunnels stretching 450 meters, increasing the traffic intake to 69,000 from 10,000 vehicles per hour)
