You would have to submit your application request to the BLS office Dubai along with the required documents in order to get your Indian passport renewal in the UAE. 

Fortunately, the documents that you would have to carry along with you on the visit are not much. The documents you are required to bring for the renewal of your Indian passport include; 

  • Your current original passport 
  • Your valid Emirates ID

However, one thing worth mentioning here is that the above mentioned documents would be needed only when you are applying for Indian passport renewal along with a UAE residence visa. 

You would be required to submit some additional documents in certain circumstances. For instance, if you apply for passport renewal in any BLS centre in Dubai with a UAE residency visa issued in Abur Dhabi or Al Ain. You can find out more about the additional documentation needed for different situations through the official BLS centre website. 

Moreover, it is suggested that you carry along a proof of your residency in the UAE while visiting the BLS centre. You might need documents such as a tenancy contract or an offer letter from the company in which you work. Keep in mind that the applicants are supposed to submit all the required documents for Indian passport renewal in person to the BLS centre Dubai. 

Procedure for Indian Passport Renewal Dubai at BLS Centre 

The applicants do not need to make an appointment before visiting the BLS office for Indian passport renewal Dubai. You can directly visit the BLS centre and take a token number. Moreover, the centre also provides you the option to take photocopies of the documents and application form at the BLS centre itself. 

Once your token number is called out, you would have to submit the required documents to the submission officer at the BLS office along with the fees required for this process.  Moreover, you would also have to sign the application form in front of the responsible officer. With the help of this the applicants can get an appointment scheduled online via BLS centre website. Through this procedure, you can submit your application faster and get pre-screening of their documents. 

The applicants interested in availing this service would have to pay extra charges of AED 236 in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. However, one thing you need to keep in mind is that the premium service would only make it easier for you to apply for the renewal process, it does not make the processing time of your application any faster.

The minimum processing time for passport renewal is 5 working days. However, if you have applied for the Tatkal (urgent) service, it would take a minimum of 2 working days for the renewal of your Indian passport. Nonetheless, the applicants do not have to visit the BLS office again to collect their passport as it would be delivered to your home through courier service.

BLS Centre Abu Dhabi

Timings: 08:00 am – 08:00 pm, Saturday to Thursday

The timings in BLS Centre Abu Dhabi for issuing token numbers are only between; 08:00 am – 01:30 pm and 02:30 pm – 06:30 pm.

Note: BLS Centre in Abu Dhabi is only accepting limited applications for passport renewal due to Covid. 

BLS Centre Abu Dhabi Premium Lounge

Timings: 08:00 am – 08:00 pm, Saturday to Thursday

BLS Centre Dubai – Al Khaleej Centre

The timings for issuing token numbers in Al Khaleej Centre are only between 08:00 am to 12:00 pm and 01:00 pm to 06:30 pm.

Note: Al Khaleej Centre is not accepting applicants below the age of 12 years and above the age of 60 years

The last token number issued for passport renewal applicants is at 03:30 pm at BLS Centre Dubai in Deira.
