Space, Skyscrapers Inspire Youth’s Art Tribute to Dubai

Artists in Dubai took inspiration from the city’s milestone and brought their imagination to life with historical paintings and photographs.

Stroll along the banks of Dubai Creek and treasure the view of the city’s milestone, covered in talent from highschool students.

Photoengraving on canvasses portraying the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE, the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Metro, the UAE’s Hope Probe to Mars, and more are all sketched in limelight at an art exhibition held as a segment of the Dubai Shopping Gala.

Held at the Dubai Shopping Festival Market at Al Seef Presented by Al Foah, the art show displays creative work by young artists from across Dubai who took part in the DSF Markets Art Contest, lined up in collaboration with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).

Getting innovative from the ‘Milestones of Dubai’, the craftsperson let their dazzling thoughts go feral as they crafted a bunch of delightful artwork and photographs that took a shot of all the major accomplishments of Dubai throughout history.

A sum of 60 high school youngsters, both Emiratis, and expats, from KHDA schools, participated in the challenge and judges selected the finest 30 potential holders to be featured until January 30. Every contesting young artist has received a Dh500 prize.

Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, said: “It’s wonderful to see all of the amazing artworks produced by talented youngsters on display at the Dubai Shopping Festival Market at Al Seef Presented by Al Foah. The historic creekside location is the ideal setting to showcase paintings and photographs that capture some of the iconic moments and achievements from Dubai’s journey.

The art contest, he said, promotes the message that DSF is greater than a retail occasion. “It’s a community-wide celebration created for all to enjoy and participate.”

Al Seef, a lively waterfront promenade situated nearby Al Fahidi Historical Proximity at Dubai Creek’s serene south bank, beautifully blends Dubai’s cultural legacy and maritime past with its present role as a modern metropolis that offers unlimited opportunities.
